Hello! I'm Tanatswa Borerwe, a Zimbabwean-born British Architect and illustrator currently based in the vibrant city of London.
For me, architecture is more than just buildings; it's a catalyst for collaboration and creativity. I believe that by bringing together diverse perspectives, we can craft architectural masterpieces that transcend mere functionality and become timeless works of art. That's why I harness the power of hand drawing as both a design and communication tool in my architectural and urban design endeavors.
My days are a delightful blend of designing community led residential buildings at an award winning AJ 100 Architecture Practice, assisting fellow architects and designers in visualising their innovative concepts, and indulging in my passion for art through vibrant pencil illustrations. From architectural illustrations to urban sketches and drawings inspired by memory, my artistic practice continues to explore these themes.
Driven by a thirst for new challenges, I specialise in creating bespoke commissions and producing illustrations that translate architectural concepts and designs from architects and interior designers.
I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities I've had to showcase my work across London. From being featured in prestigious publications like AJ Architects Journal to participating in renowned events such as Illustrator's Fair and POor Collective's PowerShift, my journey has been filled with enriching experiences. My art has graced the walls of esteemed venues like HTA Design LLP, the Mall Gallery, Collective Makers, Cadence, Spiral Gallery, and more.
I'm excited to embark on new artistic ventures and explore the possibilities that lie ahead. Let's create something extraordinary together!
